Therminol SP is a synthetic heat
transfer fluid used in moderate temperature applications (-10° C to 315° C). Therminol SP
fluid is designed for use in non-pressurized /low-pressure, indirect heating systems. It
delivers efficient, dependable, uniform process heat with no need for high pressures.

The high boiling point of Therminol SP helps reduce the volatility and
fluid leakage problems associated with other fluids. Excellent low temperature viscosity
and pumpability also make this synthetic heat transfer fluid more attractive in cold
climates than mineral oils, which are typically only considered pumpable to 0° C.
Therminol SP has also been shown to be significantly less sensitive than mineral oils to
the negative consequences (sludging, fouling) of thermal oxidation. Therminol SP is
non-corrosive to metals commonly used in the design of heat transfer systems.
Therminol SP is used in a wide variety
of industries, such as:
- Natural Gas purification
- Plastics/molding operations
- Asphalt storage
- Biodiesel
